There are at least 113 Cannabinoids that have been isolated from the Cannabis plant. This offers a huge pool of exploration which we have only scratched the surface of. Research into THC and CBD is increasing and we are discovering how this compounds can aid the human body in a host of different ways. However in this post we will look at one of the lesser research Cannabinoids — (CBC) cannabichromene or Cannabichromenic acid (CBCA) the compound name prior to decarboxylation.
CBC is thought to promote healthy brain function, relieve pain and inflammation, combat bacteria and fungus, and even fight cancer. However these are all anecdotal claims that have yet to be proven with enough research.
There has been one study which found that CBC is one of the most well-rounded cannabinoids with an abundance of advantages including playing an instrumental role in helping users battle the effects of depression. Even among other cannabinoids, CBC performed well, displaying a potency 10 times that of what CBD can offer.
“Cannabichromene (CBC) and cannabidiol (CBD) exhibited significant effect at 20 and 200mg/kg, respectively (p<0.01). The antidepressant-like action of Delta(9)-THC and CBC was further confirmed in the TST.”
We look forward to sharing more information on the 113 different Cannabinoids as more and more information comes to light.
